Overall Satisfaction with SAP Analytics Cloud
SAP Analytics Cloud is being used as a way to connect directly with stakeholders to build customized reporting and analytics dashboards to meet their specific requirements based upon their role within our global organization. Our finance department acts as the super users to create structured stories for our stakeholders that met their particular needs. Operating in this manner helps to alleviate any data misuse, as well as to help us understand how to continue to transform our data collection to serve our organization's needs going into the future.
The use of SAP Analytics Cloud solves several business problems that our organization faces. First, it allows us to connect directly with stakeholders to provide customized information based upon their role and data needs. Second, it allows us to generate custom analytics with just a few clicks of a button, saving us a significant amount of time in custom development.

Pros
- Smart Insights: The inclusion of smart insights allows our users to diagnose root causes of issues that face our organization. Without SAP Analytics Cloud, this took a significant amount of time and focus for our data analysts.
- Data Integration: The ability to connect and upload multiple data sources makes creating custom analytics simple. There is not a long lead time to add different data sources, which allows us more time to focus on insights and analytics, not back-end processes.
- Visualization: The ability to quickly create visualizations utilizing the data set is a powerful tool. The set of tools to help create the right view is simple to use and doesn't require custom design.
Cons
- Security: Integration into our current security model for non-SAP solutions has been challenging. While there are planned updates, the current solutions have been difficult to utilize.
- Non-SAP data streaming: Currently, only SAP real-time data flows into the system. Planned updates in the near future will fix this, but it is a current limitation.
- Custom color palette: Integrating the look and feel to match our other current tools has taken custom work, but it can be done. The ability to quickly match palette and style would save time.
Compared to Qlik Sense, I enjoy the functionality and feel of SAP Analytics cloud much better. The addition of the smart insights within SAP Analytics Cloud helps to identify root cause issues much quicker than the Qlik product. Additionally, with end-user deployment, SAP Analytics Cloud has been significantly quicker to create and deploy to our users than Qlik, which allows our organization to stay agile and provide the most up-to-date information to our stakeholders.
