Overall Satisfaction with SAP Analytics Cloud

[We] utilized SAP Analytics Cloud for analyzing the customer behavior while
upselling and bundling the product offerings. This is used to
personalize the user experience based on the customer profile and
collaborate between different datasets and individual data points that
are used to infer various relationships, such as positioning of items in
the catalog to obtain more sales, and to see whether we can obtain
better results while having any promotional event in the client's offering easily from the SAP dashboard.
  • Data collection
  • Data presentation in dashboard
  • Responsive design
  • Analytical tools
  • More BI tools can be added
  • Improvements in the integration touchpoints
  • Widgets can be further customized for specific client needs
  • Overall sales have shown a positive trend
  • Product information is now better served to the customers
  • ROI is still on the lower side for clients; this is a common feedback that we've received from our clients
  • A wider range of devices can now access the solution thanks to the responsive design of the same
Overall this is a matured product, having arrived recently, but is capable of providing BI to a wide variety of industries. There is still a lot of scope in terms of how well-matured its reporting and the widgets can become, but at the same time, its iterative nature has kept it current and provided a lot of intelligent feature sets.
  • Price
  • Product Usability
  • Prior Experience with the Product
The single most useful feature being the interoperability with other parts of the SAP ecosystem helps it have an edge over the common tools by industry leaders like google and microsoft. This in addition to the dashboard console which allows the implementer to keep track of all the handy mechanisms allow the end consumer to keep a close eye on the different promotions and campaigns and allowing for a better ROI on the product.
  • Oracle CX Commerce (formerly Oracle Commerce Cloud)
Mainly due to the fact that SAP Analytics Cloud has [...] good integration with a host of SAP technologies and marketplace, thereby making it an easier choice for the target clients who get [...] better connectivity and lesser licensing costs, making this a win-win proposition. Additionally, as this is frequently updated, the end customers are able to make use of the constant innovations that are coming out of SAP on a regular basis without having to reinvent the wheel (due to the use of cloud) and also without the upfront costs involved in the hardware to be used in a conventional setup.

Do you think SAP Analytics Cloud delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Did SAP Analytics Cloud live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of SAP Analytics Cloud go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy SAP Analytics Cloud again?

Yes

For scenarios where there is a specific dataset in a predefined format, this is easy to implement and import the data to obtain the bigger picture while feeding the data into different analytics. However, for projects where the incoming data is not uniform and/or coming from disparate datasets, it is not the ideal implementation and requires ETL to be performed on the data.

Using SAP Analytics Cloud

10 - BAs, Content creators and product sales and marketing teams. These typically utilise the analytics for quality control and also to test and implement newer innovations throughout the sales and marketing places.
4 - These are the inhouse support staff which monitor the website on a continual basis. Through them, the 24/7 survelliance is taken care of.
  • Sales
  • Marketing
  • Product R&D
  • No, the standard way is the way to setup and use the product itself.
  • In various non SAP websites too, as the plugin layer is not tied to any web framework.
  • Have SAP Analytics Cloud to log the various sections of website and eventually optimize the system
The overall ownership experience has been helpful, rewarding for us, and profitable for the client.

Evaluating SAP Analytics Cloud and Competitors

The challenger will not only have to have a centralized interface, but also have support for the developers who are investigating the product.

SAP Analytics Cloud Implementation

Once implemented, this is must have product in any new product launch.
Not sure - No, the issue was purely business
  • Javascript compatibility issues
  • Css interoperability

SAP Analytics Cloud Support

The SAP support via the launchpad is a mixed offering; while it is helpful to diagnose and advise a fix for the common issues, I feel that the current support is on the slower side, especially during the critical business times. At times, this support is time consuming, especially on time critical issues, but the support works best if given some time which is the same SLA as per business standard.
ProsCons
Quick Resolution
Good followup
Knowledgeable team
Problems get solved
Kept well informed
Immediate help available
Support understands my problem
Support cares about my success
Escalation required
Slow Initial Response
No other premium subscription or services were taken as the standard offering takes care of the customer support and the issues are typically resolved at the earliest.
Yes - As mentioned earlier, the resolution of the bugs takes some time (which is mentioned in their SLA document) but once submitted with proper data, the bugs typically get resolved on time.
During a go-live, there was a mission critical issue that was causing the entire analytics to fail and nothing was getting stored on the analytics dashboard. Thankfully, the support crew identified the root cause as the CORS security configuration and provided us with a solution which worked and our go-live activity did not have any major issue from there on.

Using SAP Analytics Cloud

ProsCons
Like to use
Easy to use
Well integrated
Consistent
Convenient
Requires technical support
Lots to learn
  • user tracking
  • website places tracking
  • calculating the overall usage of different pages in the website
  • Upgrades are a real pain. Wish the company can streamline this
