Overall Satisfaction with SAP Analytics Cloud

Reporting, e.g. for Financials
But we are also thinking to expand to other functional areas, including logistics/SCM.
We had a really interesting use case for identifying our exposure to operations in Russia, following the recent invasion of Ukraine. Our teams were able to come up with a report - for our Finance community - in just 1 week. A real success story for us.

Pros

  • Financial reporting
  • Could also work in other areas, e.g. logistics/SCM
  • Fast deployment

Cons

  • Hard to get started with: technical set-up
  • Hard to get started with: not very intuitive for functional resources (many hours need to be invested to start to get results)
  • Replace SAP reports
  • Optimized budgeting and forecasting capabilities (we have a project to have SAC replace Hyperion)
  • Fast development of new reports for our Finance community
Superior to SAP reports (ABAP)
Unfortunately, the upfront investment means adoption is not where it needs to be in our organization.
Still, for those who have made the initial effort, the speed and convenience are then obvious.

Great user experience, e.g. flexible and dynamic dashboards.
However, not so easy to use for the development team initially.
SAC is a great reporting option, e.g. for dashboards

Speed of development and flexibility/convenience for users
Great user experience, with really good looking dynamic dashboards
Use cases are not limited to any functional area (e.g. finance/controlling)
