Overall Satisfaction with SAP Crystal
The software is currently being used by our outsourcing department. The software allows the department to create multiple graphical reports for the department to understand how different vendors are managed. The data is exported from different data sources like Microsoft excel and Oracle SQL. The reports generated allows the upper management to understand how different vendors are managed in terms of cost and performance.
- It is a great application to see data from different perspective
- It is easy to connect with multiple database simultaneously
- It is easy to format and users can use wide variety of formulas
- It is challenging to use the system at first but once you pass that learning curve then it is easy to maneuver the application based on your needs
- Converting Crystal Reports to Excel can be challenging as the formatting gets distorted
- Overall, there are no major issues and it is a great tool
I didn't make the decision in terms of selecting the software for the department. However, SAP Crystal is a great tool for a medium size department to increase their efficiency. There might be a different software on the market but I haven't used any similar software except Excel spreadsheet for similar work.
