Overall Satisfaction with SAP Crystal Reports
We are a small financial industry therefore we are not using SAP Crystal Reports on a daily basis, but at least monthly we use the program to pull various reports for loan, and marketing, etc. When first using the program I was confused, but that was only because I never had any training on it. Once I went to a day training and I have learned to love this program! It has helped immensely in our marketing department as we pull reports for specific target groups. It has helped us be more efficient in time spent on pulling and organizing reports.
- Design Mode. Before Crystal Reports I would pull information then transfer it to Excel to design and organize the report how I needed it. Since Crystal Report has a design mode I am able to pull, organize, and style my report all on the same program, including graphs and charts.
- Auto Filled Letters. I have to send various letters and notices out to members and thanks to Crystal Reports I can send out these letters I've designed and have it auto fill all the member's information including their address, current balance, and more. It saves me from making mistakes I could make if I were filling in the letters myself, and is a huge time saver.
- Starting a report is the hardest thing for me because of the endless tables I'm given to choose from. I know there is a guide somewhere that specifies what information you will find in each table, but I haven't yet used it. If there was a section of most commonly used tables then it would be great.
I didn't work with Microsoft Access for too long before we switched to Crystal Reports, but I felt like Crystal Reports could do more with the design mode. I feel like I can't do a fair evaluation due to my short time with Access.
