Overall Satisfaction with SAP HANA
We leverage it both as our BW database, our BPC database, as well as for our IFRS 15 solution (complex Data transformation)
Pros
- high speed data processing for high volumes of data
- complex calculation views processing
- performance optimization and simplified data model
Cons
- cost prohibitive license model
- allowed us to build IFRS 15 data model for very complex telecom specific revenue recognition rules
not yet, still receiving data from multiple source via batch processing for operational efficiencies
[support for all data types] is important as we want to further leverage for predictive analytics and AI data modeling
Teradata is better suited for the high volumes of customer and revenue data as all key sources are non-SAP and legacy footprint exists and leveraged since pre-HANA days
