Hi,
Generally we use SAP Master Data Governance system to analyse and eliminate unnecessary duplicate Master Data records. We also use to gain insights on how the data is used and consumed by users

Pros

  • Data changes track record maintaining
  • Restructure, rationalize master data

Cons

  • recently with new S4 hana use, there came a lot of integration areas
  • more simplified add-on tool can become helpful
  • Creation of Raw material data if can be used in a more interactive way
  • some AI tools started giving some of the MDG tools functionality, this needs adapt
  • from business end users prospective, its very essential to have lesser duplicate records
SAP being a global ERP product supporting most of the business module, became one of the most popular ERP solution. The use of MDG module came in really handy as we could inter-corelate them & use easily with other SAP modules & data exchange becomes more easy and convenient
SAP support has always been good and helpful for any SAP products. Unlike other SAP modules, we also came across some obstacles as our developers proceeded to make custom functions. We have good support from SAP side upon raising ticket for those and were resolved pretty quick
SAP Master Data Governance is a market-leading solution that allows you to define, enforce, monitor, and improve master data across domains for central or decentralized master data management in hybrid landscapes. MDG framework can use the package size to read data for BW data extraction and at the same time keep the search method and criteria consistent in the search UI when switching entity type or search method
