Overall Satisfaction with Sauce Labs

We use sauce labs for browser emulation for testers, and for automation test simulation. This makes it convenient for our testers and engineers to test/explore our application in a VM environment.
  • Easy to use UI
  • Supports automation testing
  • Wide range of device and browser simulation
  • Virtual machines are slow to load/use
  • Not really possible to use HTTP debugging or native app debugging tools
  • Takes a long time for machines to complete automation tests
  • Since the company has thousands of daily users the tool is an amazing investment, and it does allow for better test coverage for all web applications.
BrowserStacks is a much better tool since it's faster to load/use, but it's sort of like [going from] Charles to wireshark. People with experience will work with wireshark vs. those that perfer a simple UI like Charles.
If you have many users, but not enough devices the services are amazing. It's also reliable for using on automation tests, but if you can budget in actual devices it might be better since they are way more cost effective.
