Overall Satisfaction with Scale Computing HC3

We migrated to the Scale so my company would have failover capabilities and cost savings over traditional servers. We have moved many of our company's applications to the Scale cluster (Domain, Exchange, etc.).

Pros

  • Easy to start up and migrate systems.
  • Failover capabilities.

Cons

  • The display of usable hard drive storage shows actual space left not the usable space.
  • I would like to have the ability for the snap shots to be stored on a NAS as well as on the cluster.
Every question, issue we have had has been answered and resolved with in a few hours.
  • I have moved 7 servers onto a 3 node system. The cost of the 3 nodes was a fraction of the cost of 7 servers.
Hyper-V is much more difficult to start up. VMware start-up costs are much higher than Scale.
Good for mission-critical systems. VDI desktops.

Not good for REALLY small business where 1 server is all the resource needed.
