Overall Satisfaction with Schoology

San Juan Unified School District is using Schoology throughout our district. Teachers, administrators, district office personal, and counselors utilize Schoology in a variety of ways. Teachers use it as a virtual classroom and a collaborative learning environment, a repository where they can store and share resources, and communication tool for parents, teachers, and peers. Teachers post assignments, create quizzes, and have online classroom discussions. They post announcements and events. They use the Schoology Gradebook to track mastery of standards and, in turn, differentiate assignments for students. Schoology is being used for blended online professional development for teachers and other staff.
  • Schoology is the perfect environment for the blended learning classroom. Teachers can post assignments, tests, discussions, and events all within the "virtual" classroom.
  • Schoology's mastery tracking allows teachers to easily track standards and specific learning criteria.
  • Schoology is a repository for all resources. These resources can be shared and accessed anywhere, anytime, as long as you have an internet connection.
  • It is difficult to find anything bad to say about Schoology. One thing I would like to see changed is "groups." I would like to see groups have more features available, more like the "courses." For example, I would like to be able to display "inline" within a group, like I can in a course.
  • Schoology has had a positive impact on our district. It has created a central platform that we can utilize for teachers, students, parents, administrators and staff.
Our District has used Moodle, Blackboard, Google Sites and Schoology. After piloting all these platforms we decided on Schoology because it had almost everything we needed. Our teachers overwhelmingly preferred Schoology.
Schoology is well suited for any educational environment. Many teachers have websites, but Schoology is a better option and is much more comprehensive. You can use as little or as much as you want - from a simple resource repository to a comprehensive virtual classroom.
