Overall Satisfaction with ShareFile
We use ShareFile to gather and send sensitive tax documents from our clients and to transmit large files. We also use it to get documents signed, especially ones requiring KBA (knowledge based authentication).
Pros
- getting documents signed, especially with KBA
- transmitting large files
- storing tons of data with the ability to sort/categorize and give various levels of access to different people
Cons
- clients have expressed trouble finding/logging into their ShareFile folders
- Clients have expressed trouble uploading documents (you have to press upload, then drag in the file then press upload a second time, which most folks forget)
- We are able to use ShareFile to collaborate with clients and employees. We have built in a system of "x's" where no x's means client has uploaded but it's never been entered into the tax return, 3 x's is entered, 2 x's is by the initial reviewer and 1 x means it's gone through final review.
- We are able to sort using sub folders by tax year and within each subfolder by business or personal and with even more sub sub folders to get more specific.
- We're able to give access to certain people to be able to modify, others to view only and others no access at all
ShareFile has been a game changer in terms of keeping all documents in one place, accessible by all employees and clients. Notifications when someone has read or uploaded are invaluable and prevent us from needing to constantly check back to see if something is there yet.
E-signatures is easy and very cost effective. KBAs are significantly less expensive and so easy to use. Most of my clients LOVE it, as opposed to printing, signing and uploading.
