Overall Satisfaction with Sigma Computing
Sigma is used for visualizing and reporting on cybersecurity data. For example, tracking how our computing environments meet our standards, and tracking that partner teams are meeting SLAs.
- It's easy to get started.
- Good for cross-organization sharing.
- You can send scheduled reports over Slack.
- It's tough to manage large amounts of dashboards.
- You can't pivot on datapoints within dashboards.
- There's some small UI flakiness occasionally.
- It has very positive ROI, and can change conversations, from gut-level to data-driven.
- Teams that couldn't get started with other, harder to use BI tools, were able to embrace and do wonderful things with Sigma.
Yes, we have some non-technical users within our Compliance team that have become data heroes with dashboards they made powering executive decisions.
Yes, we have meetings where the topic of conversation is strictly data from Sigma reports.
Yes, Sigma works on large data sets. Yesterday I was working on a table with billions of rows, and Sigma was able to handle it. It only showed some slowness around the filter value suggestions, but overall worked.
Yes, this was an easy pricing model to buy into, and it works for how we use it.
- Looker and Tableau Online
It's much easier to use, and has what I need. Others had too steep of a learning curve for people outside the data team.
