Overall Satisfaction with Skillport

Skillport is used across the entirety of our organization, and it is what we use for employees to be trained for our annual (and specialty) trainings. I use Skillport several times a year, and it is managed by our HR department. There are a lot of individuals who work for our organization, so it is helpful for training several thousand people and tracking that.
  • Skillport is good at sending reminders for training and when your training is overdue.
  • Skillport is accessible, and you can view all of your trainings on one page.
  • Skillport is fairly intuitive for the user, which is good because it is utilized across a wide range of abilities.
  • I've had issues in the past when I have completed a training, but it doesn't show up that it is completed.
  • I think Skillport could be more visually pleasing.
  • I'm not the person who manages the program, but from a user perspective it allows us to be ensured that our coworkers are going to be trained on the things it's essential everyone has some familiarity with.
  • It allows flexibility in changing workplaces and doesn't leave large gaps of time for unstaffed offices (as in person training can do)
  • It allows new employees to view their training schedule so they know what needs to be done.
I haven't used any other online training system except for Skillport, and I wasn't the person who selected it. However, our organization usually uses pretty decent technology when it comes to training, and I trust that they felt this was the best choice for our organization versus the alternative options.
I think Skillport is definitely good for large organizations that need to train large amounts of people. If an organization is doing a lot of "mandatory" trainings that don't necessarily need to be done in person (i.e. hand washing training, trainings on federal laws, etc) it would be good.
