Overall Satisfaction with Slite
Slite is used for design, product and engineering notes and documents. Primary as a daily and weekly journal for teams to keep notes and organize agile rituals and meetings. Secondarily, it's relied upon to keep ongoing documentation for key product and user experience decisions, background information and assorted historical details.
Pros
- Templates for meeting notes
- Cross-functional collaboration
- Search and retrieval of content
- Summarizing recent activity
Cons
- Integrations with chat apps like Slack
- Could use better visual tools and whiteboards
- The genAI features are still fairly shallow
- Positive ... Eng. Started using this and the rest of product adopted
Evernote started to feel like the ghost of christmas past, and Notion was too "do anything", I guess. Slite found a comfort with Eng. people and they're the most underpressure to document processes, policies, ideas, approaches, historical context, decisions, etc.
Google Workspace would be my preference, since the org uses Workspaces religiously already. And I find that Google Drive, with search, is much more robust solution for cross-functional concerns. Can mix in various docs and artifacts, the collaboration tools are excellent, and the mental maps are well-understood in various department. "Everyone" gets how a doc works. And last point, Google AI features are miles ahead of Slite.
