Overall Satisfaction with Snowflake

We are using Snowflake as our data warehouse. We currently are loading in our tables and data from an old IBM System to Snowflake. It is currently being used by a few departments but is planning to be used across the whole organization.

Pros

  • Performance is extremely fast
  • Pay for what you use
  • Simple and Pleasant User Interface

Cons

  • The mouse pointer can be laggy at times when hovering over a preview of a table
  • Make it easier to switch between data warehouses
  • It will save the company money by providing a new business solution to data warehousing
  • Pay as you go allows the company to choose what it wants to pay for and use
Snowflake is much faster and more intuitive than Amazon Redshift. We currently use AWS for other aspects of our data ingestion process but found that Snowflake is extremely compatible and the user interface is unmatched.
Snowflake is extremely user-friendly. It is compatible with most other technologies and the SQL interface built in is super intuitive.
Snowflake is great for storing data and using it as an endpoint to query off of. It is cloud-based so the it can be scaled to any business need. It is great for analytics as well as simply storing data.
