Overall Satisfaction with Square POS

As a non-profit organization, we use Square POS primarily to accept donations when we host fundraising events. However, we also use it to accept payment when we provide services such as trainings, curricula, and film screenings of our documentaries or training films etc.
  • It's simple to use.
  • It provides options in the way that donors/customers receive receipts or verification of the transaction.
  • It's pretty affordable.
  • On occasion, the card reader doesn't function 100% well, but this keeps improving.
  • It's made it easier to be able to press for an immediate point of sale (or point of donation) instead of having to direct our donors/clients to making a payment/donation at a later time.
  • You do have to sacrifice a portion of your sale/donation to processing fees.
I do have the ability to take donations using Classy on my phone, for instance, but because that is a website and not an application, the process is not as smooth, so Square is definitely better for point of sale.
I use square pos both in person with a client/donor and over the phone since it includes the functionality of being able to enter a card number manually.
