Overall Satisfaction with Sublime Text

Sublime Text was used by the web dev department of my company for probably about three years. We used it for local development of HTML, CSS, and PHP for Wordpress and for HubSpot sites. We started developing using SASS when we got into using Sublime Text.
  • Code hinting
  • Plugins
  • Organization
  • Compiling--need another program for compiling. That's really the only downside that I saw.
  • Fast! It's a snappy program
  • Globbing is a nice piece that we can't do with Visual Studio Code
  • When we moved to Visual Studio Code, we started using SASS, which greatly improved our speed and efficiency
  • Made for quicker/easier global CSS changes than our previous workflow
Before using Visual Studio Code, we were using Adobe Dreamweaver. Dreamweaver worked well back then, but we were amazed at how much faster and more intuitive Sublime Text was. That's the time that we got into SASS, which made things go so much faster and more efficiently. Also Sublime Text just feels so much more streamlined than Dreamweaver. Faster, easier, more intuitive to use. However, about eight months ago, we moved over to Visual Studio Code. I find Visual Studio Code to be pretty similar to Sublime Text in many ways, but the main reason why we moved to Visual Studio Code was that it enabled us to stop needing to use another program for compiling, which just makes life that much easier.

Do you think Sublime Text delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Sublime Text's feature set?

Yes

Did Sublime Text live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Sublime Text go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Sublime Text again?

No

I think Sublime Text is a really good program. I think that it works really well for development and I really like the look of the program itself--more than Visual Studio Code, which is what my company switched to.
