Overall Satisfaction with Tableau Server

We used it across the organization: dashboards for company-wide financial and department-specfic reporting.
  • Connection to different data sources
  • Quick setup for default visualizations
  • Easy to construct dashboards, and easy to share and publish.
  • Speed. If tables are large it can be very slow.
  • Usage can result in many database connections active
  • Some of the defaults are not easily modified.
  • IBM Business Insights
Tableau server was easier to setup
Quick prototype reports: well suited.
Folks who aren't into visual charts and want spreadsheets: not well suited.
