Okta feature rich, great value for the cost
Overall Satisfaction with The Okta Identity Cloud
We use The Okta Identity Cloud for our SSO solution. The Okta Identity Cloud has some great security features such as trusted locations, MFA, etc. It is used throughout the entire organization and we continue to use it as the default login for any service/product that supports it. It's flexible enough to sync users/passwords against AD and Google LDAP.
Pros
- security
- sso
- onboarding
Cons
- admin ui
- user ui
- increased speed of deployment of SSO vs building our own for internal developed software
- increased security in numerous methods (MFA, location, password management, etc.)
- great for onboarding new employees
As Okta is more readily available, more software SAAS solutions or self-hosted solutions are easily configurable within Okta. This helps end-users (staff) as they are familiar with the Okta name and able to provide one username/password that is secure to log in.
We have had a few occurrences where we need to call Okta for support. Their support is great. We were able to get all issues resolved in less than a couple of hours for our emergencies, and less than 2 days for a couple of issues that were non-mission critical issues.
We have never had any issues with The Okta Identity Cloud uptime. Uptime is the last thing you want to worry about when trying to run some internally developed software solutions. Any downtime for our own software was related to something else and never Okta.
Do you think Okta delivers good value for the price?
Yes
Are you happy with Okta's feature set?
Yes
Did Okta live up to sales and marketing promises?
Yes
Did implementation of Okta go as expected?
Yes
Would you buy Okta again?
Yes
Okta is feature rich. Okta was not the cheapest but also not the most expensive. They were very competitive on pricing as we are a non-profit. Okta is becoming more and more the leader in SSO and security.
