Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Raiser's Edge is used by our fundraising team, a team of 15 - essentially Major Gifts and Foundations relationship managers. We use the Events, Memberships and Prospect modules. We record all information pertaining to our prospects and donors, and most importantly the interaction we have with our prospects and donors.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Record different kinds of gifts, for example pledges, recurring gifts etc. There's a lot of info you can enter.
You can modulate the information you enter, there's a whole section called "attributes" for info you can't record anywhere else. You have the choice of format (table, yes/no, date, text).
You can can link actions to proposals, allowing to view a selected cultivation process and the specific actions linked to it.

Cons

We can't record gifts in multiple currencies, which is a real shame for major gift giving.
Not possible to link an action or note to several records (e.g. spouses).
The help section and user guides are not very handy.
