Overall Satisfaction with Ubiquiti WLAN

We have a cloud-based Unifi network controller and have deployed a lot of Ubiquiti [WLAN] devices across many of our customer sites. The controller allows us to monitor, configure and manage all our customer's WLANs from one centralized location that can be accessed from anywhere on Internet. We can easily reboot APs, reset or view wireless passwords, view connected devices, network usage and identify potential issues.
  • it make it very easy and fast to deploy a new site
  • Provides good insights e.g. rogues SSIDs
  • Good usage stats for all wireless clients
  • The unifi fiber switches are not robust enough
  • The logging is fairly poor or hard to find and interpret
  • Low price
  • Good community and knowledge base
  • Upgrading to Ubiquiti always has a positive impact on the company as it is in general a good wireless solution
Access to a cloud based controller is free of charge, the Ubiquiti products are more performant and have more features/capabilities.

[Ubiquiti WLAN] is well suited for modern buildings and offices, if you are an MSP and it is within the budget. There are better products out there but more expensive. I would not recommend for residential deployments or premises with a lot of Apple devices, but again there are very few alternatives to Ubiquity.
