Overall Satisfaction with Ubiquiti WLAN

We use Ubiquiti WLAN to provide wireless solutions to my customers. We use it not only internally, but also it is our "goto" for our clients in terms of a solution. The business problems it addresses, are providing an enterprise level of WIFI, while at the same time, not being overly cost prohibitive. Many small to medium businesses need a solution that is enterprise level to get them off the consumer WIFI solutions that just cannot handle the increase in network traffic.

I find that since some of our customers are nonprofit organizations, such as churches, were finances are always tenative, Ubiquiti WLAN gets the job done, and the cost is manageable.
  • Ubiquti WLAN is very easy on setup for fast deployment.
  • The monitoring software is offered at different level. Cloudkey, or just throwing up their free controller on a PC somewhere.
  • It also does a great job of publishing timely updates to firmware, and addressing bug issues.
  • The ease of the interface, without adding a bunch of fluff, makes this literally the best out there in my opinion.
  • The reporting of alerts needs to have the same ease as setting up the remote portal access.
  • I really wish that I could link it easier to my mobile device and monitor, when I'm not even there. Currently, I have to be connected to the network onsite to view it. Seems counterintuitive.
  • There are times I run into slow device adoption with either having to rest devices, or adding new one's to the existing environment.
  • Reliability of devices.
  • Ease of reporting, monitoring, and management through the console.
  • Rolling updates of devices, versus an all or nothing approach.
  • Positive ROI is just stopping the overage of support calls, due to crappy WLAN. Ubiquiti is so solid, when we deploy it, calls about WIFI issues are nearly non-existent.
  • Depending on the size of a building that you are rolling a mesh out to, the costs upfront on the devices can be a bit intimidating, though they are lower than most. Convincing the organization that Ubiquiti WLAN is the way to go can be a juggling act.
  • I feel that Ubiquiti has had a positive impact, because it helped us eliminate solutions that were not solutions at all. We have a solid platform to immediately share with our customers. Looking more decisive in what we offer with Ubiquiti WLAN means, we close deals faster.
There is no comparison really. The fact that I am not using those others, as in, not even considering what they have to offer, should speak volumes on how well Ubiquiti WLAN stacks up. It just ranks across the board as the best solution. In fact, when a new Ubiquiti product comes out, I'm wanting to test it.

Do you think Ubiquiti WLAN delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Ubiquiti WLAN's feature set?

Yes

Did Ubiquiti WLAN live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Ubiquiti WLAN go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Ubiquiti WLAN again?

Yes

Ubiquiti is well suited to not just indoor WLAN access, but also outdoors. In fact, the range of the outdoor applications, while maintaining throughput is astonishing. I would say this is not a solution for a 1-5 person small office, due to the costs.
