Works for Me
Overall Satisfaction with Unitrends Recovery Series Backup Appliance
We use two appliances across our district to backup data on our servers, and 2 virtual environments. Each appliance has a recovery appliance plugged into it. Once setup and scheduled it works very well.
- Integrates with virtual appliances hosting VMware very well.
- Small client based sets up and integrates well with appliance whether it is a virtual server or regular server.
- Updates are very simple and can be pushed out to client based servers.
- Bare-metal - we need in short something that boots up like that and clones like Acronis.
- Simpler backup retentioning. seems convoluted.
- Simpler backup and archiving. Just combine the two instead of calling them two different things.
- Only had a bare-metal fail because of OEM OS. Set me back a week.
- Sometimes snapshots go wonky on VMware and we have to resolve them by consolidating.
- When the drives fail on the appliance there is no warning. Typically we are not in the environment enough to jump in a web session to check on the appliance.
No backup solution. Straight hardware transfers to USB devices on desktops. Every so often ghosted drives from servers.
It's better, more efficient, and can be scheduled on lower bandwidth times.
