Overall Satisfaction with Unitrends Recovery Series Backup Appliance
We have been using Unitrends Appliance for about 2+ years to backup all our servers. It provides great backup with de-duplication. Also it is our primary DR/business continuity solution. It can run our physical servers as VMs if the physical server goes down.
- Differential backup for ever
- Deduplication
- Built-in VMs in case of the failure of a server
- Since the user interface is created in Flash, right click always bring the default Flash menu.
- Online chat on the appliance user interface will be a better option.
- The system should have access through a proxy server to get updates.
- I was able to run a server from Unitrends appliance when the physical server went down due to a hardware failure.
- I most used the appliance for recovering deleted files/overwritten files.
- Very good in testing applications before installing to the production environment.
One of the best option in Unitrends versus others is running a VM inside the appliance even without recovering it to another hardware. It has a very user friendly web based interface which needs minimal training.
