Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication
Veeam has been a great asset to the organization. It was easy to set up and the interface is simple to use. We have been able to improve our backups times, and more importantly, it our restores work every time. Users are happy to know that if something is deleted, we can recover within mins and not the hours it took when we used to use our old legacy backup system.
- Integration of MS Exchange has been a lifesaver for us.
- Not worrying about if restores will actually work.
- Simple interface and very little training required.
- I have not run into any issues at all.
- We have been able to provide a great level of comfort to our users knowing that their data is protected and we can restore quickly.
Right now we are protecting around 500 Virtual Machines. We have started to protect our physical servers as well and we are looking into backing up to the cloud. Once we first deployed Veeam we only had around 100 Virtual Machines. Once we were growing and saw that Veeam could backup everything we wanted, Veeam became the standard for backups.
We have been able to use NAS devices for our ROBO sites so that has saved us a lot of costs. We don't need to deploy expensive backup appliances at every ROBO site we have. We have taken that savings and used it to make sure all our sites have the backups they need.
Using Veeam Virtual Lab has been a game-changer for us. We have been able to spin up our VMs from backups and then we have been doing upgrades against the VMs. We did this for our Exchange upgrade and we could never have done this before without using Veeam Virtual Labs.
We used to use Backup Exec before we starting using VMware. However, once we started to virtualize our environment, we could no longer use a product that was not built from the ground up for virtualizing. Veeam has so many more options than Backup Exec has and we know our restores will work. We also don't have to worry about if the user interface will change every version.
