Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication
I decided it was time to look for a replacement for a backups solutions which we had been using for many years (BackupExec). Additionally I wanted to find something that would better support our virtual environment and potentially be available as a purpose built hardware solution. Veeam can support this from what I have read to date. Additionally I needed to try it before making a decision to move forward. The community edition has allowed me to do this and works well.
- Virtualized workloads
- Endpoints and physical servers running Windows & Linux
- In addition to back up, we also replicate some of these workloads
- Cloud-hosted VMs within AWS or Azure

- Backup VMs with compression
- Restore the VM and re-register with vCenter - perfectly each time.
- The interface can be confusing for those of us who dont like to read manuals

We are looking to move to something that is integrated, or can be, with a hardware solution that will support our current on prem and future cloud environments.
We have not yet, but we are looking for these options moving forward.
