Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Data Platform
We use the Veeam data platform to back up our current virtual machines and file systems. It is key in our strategy as we have an offsite host to switch to in the event of problems. This is done efficiently with the software, and logs are generated to show possible problems. It allows us to have less stress in these specific situations.
Pros
- It has effective logs when troubleshooting.
- It cutover time and speed are better than the rest of the market.
- It has a simple interface to use.
Cons
- The ability to filter logs or add variables.
- Simplifying the registration of a server to the service.
- Allows locked rotation on a proxy host.
- Virtualized workloads
- Endpoints and physical servers running Windows & Linux
- NAS filers
- In addition to back up, we also replicate some of these workloads
- In addition to back up, we also snapshot some of these workloads
- Cloud-hosted VMs within AWS or Azure
- Application-centric recovery using Veeam Explorers (for Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, etc)

22 current workloads are part of Veeam. Upon review and installation, we were much smaller, with less than 10 workloads.
- The speed of recovery in certain situations.
- Reduction on cyber liability insurance.
- Limited downtime.
The introduction of new servers and migration of processes.
Cloud workloads are limited due to the functionality being more costly.
We currently don't use the file share because we use a combination of a file server and SharePoint online.
Barracuda is limited in its functions and does not have quick restore options.
