Overall Satisfaction with Turbonomic (formerly VMTurbo)

We use VMTurbo Operations Manager in our complete enterprise environment. It manages the virtual environment for a significant part and as a result it takes us less time to manage the virtual environment. Besides this it keeps a close eye on the use of resources and manages the spread of the load on the different hosts.
  • Automatic migration of VMs across ESX hosts based on policies.
  • Automatic storage migration based on policies.
  • Cutting edge reporting facilities across the virtual environment.
  • Cutting edge planning solution which is integrated in the Appliance. It enables you to predict impact of added systems and annual growth path predictions.
  • Expansion of the reporting facility will always be an improvement.
  • Because of its power it can also be a dangerous feature in your network when policies are poorly defined.
  • Better workload on the virtual environment.
  • Increased employee efficiency.
  • Better predictive facilities and therefore faster response times to customers when proposing new environments.
  • Better reporting.
  • VMTurbo Operations Manager not only monitors but also executes improvements based on policies.
  • Good support.
I believe it's the best solution for more or less standard virtual environments. Once it's implemented in environments with specific storage settings / environments it can disrupt functionality when policies are not well implemented.
