Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard AuthPoint

We use AuthPoint together with our WatchGuard firewall to secure our remote workers via 2 factor push notifications to their mobile devices when attempting to login to the VPN from a remote location.

Pros

  • Consistent MFA push notifications
  • Simple management once configured
  • Reasonable logging for debugging

Cons

  • Documentation is lacking for more complicated setups, for example integrating into Windows AD Radius backed VPNs
  • Generally configuration can be time consuming as it is not always clear where settings are, cloud or local
  • AuthPoint increased our remote work security by adding a second layer of authentication for VPN access
  • Adding a second layer of authentication for remote connections assisted with obtaining Cyber Essentials certification

AuthPoint is great if you are already in the ecosystem, I cannot see how this would benefit if you are not already using a WatchGuard firewall or other service they provide. Most competitors have their equivalent products so mixing these up will likely lead to issues.
