Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard Network Security

We install and manage WatchGuard appliances at many job sites along with WatchGuard access points. Some sites have multiple appliances which are used for site to site branch office gateway VPNs. Almost all sites employ active WatchGuard Network Security services for advanced protection.

  • Lack of support for devices that were purchased 3 years prior and now are at their end of life.
  • Keeping anti-spam as an advanced protection option in a bundle when 1% of the population uses anti-spam.
  • Responding to a system integrator wanting to get listed on their website to get more clients.
  • It does well with VPN except for small businesses as the small appliance is limited in seats.
  • It is difficult to renew.
  • Too many emails about renewals.

I have not seen a benefit with this.
WatchGuard Network Security is well suited for a business of any size. The Geo-blocking feature is a great concept, however it is very frustrating to me and other users as it does not do a good job with things like Office 365 when the traffic comes from a backup data center outside of the US and the hostname is in a FQDN exception.
