Workfront helps us centralized all the Digital Marketing requests in one place. It shows the status of each task and enables us to assign tasks to different users. It facilitates the review process and the communication between the requestors and the workers. It helps us with managing all our request history and we can always go back to previous requests to check what had been asked fro, what had been done and approved.
Pros
- Able to search through all the requests, even closed tasks, which is great for traceability.
- Great view of the full list of tasks and who is assigned what, with status for each at a glance.
- Easy to manage communication and exchanges within each task - with comments in each task
Cons
- I find it a bit slow at times to display the pages/tasks.
- It is a bit hard to customize the templates for the task form.
- I wish there was a way to implement automated workflow - for instance, when a task status is changed, it would be great to change the assignee automatically.
- Collaboration between requestors and workers
- Improved productivity in our development
- Better visibility of task statuses/work progress
I did not select Workfront.
We have benefited from the internal collaboration feature of Workfront as it makes communication and visibility better on the tasks that we received from requestors. It helps workers to be more autonomous in their work and managing their time and workload better. We keep the history of all the exchanges done in each task, which is great for traceability purposes.
At the beginning, when I started using it, we asked for support from the Workfront team to set us up with the proper templates and to help us understand how to manage users, templates, and administrate everything in Workfront. It was valuable help and the multiple phone calls we had with them really made it easier for us since we couldn't be in the same room with them. But they were very patient and explained everything well.
