Small Company Workfront Review
Overall Satisfaction with Workfront
- Centralize projects in one solution
- Manage digital work processes
- Review and approve digital work
We use Workfront to centralize project tracking and reporting. We make extensive use of Workfront's agile capabilities as well as proofing for marketing communications and product labels.
Pros
- We love the agile capabilities in Workfront. The tool does a great job of combining agile and traditional task management into a single tool.
- Workfront Request Queues provide an easy way to manage and route requests ensuring that the right people see and act on requests.
- Workfront reporting allows to automate project status reporting without having to write a separate status report. We enter project updates directly into Workfront and then use scheduled reports to deliver information to stakeholders.
Cons
- We would like an option to create a Kanban style storyboard.
- Workfront has allowed our marketing team to create re-usable templates for recurring tasks that have improved productivity and ensured consistent delivery of things like blog posts and newsletters.
- Workfront proofing has improved collaboration among various departments by routing product labels to all stakeholder for review and comment.
Workfront lands in the middle between MS Project and Basecamp. Basecamp was too simplistic and didn't provide enough core project / task management features. MS Project was too rigid and difficult to share project information. Workfront has the right mix of project / task management features and project visibility.
We use Workfront to collaborate with a 3rd party developers in Korea. Workfront makes it easy to assign tasks and communicate issues / changes with our development partner. Workfront helps us get close to a 24 Hour development cycle.
