Overall Satisfaction with Yardi Voyager

As a multifamily residential management company, Yardi Voyager is the primary software of operations, leasing and accounting for all employees across 6 states. Voyager allows us to access and manipulate the database for the entirety of our residential and commercial leasing records, financial and accounting processes and operational maintenance procedures. Users access Yardi Voyager to enter prospect information, manage and track applications - including the running of screening reports -, record and track financial transactions - including journal entries, invoices, and receivables - and produce vital financial statements for our clients.

Pros

  • Record journal entries, run general ledger queries, and produce vital financial reports
  • Straightforward and easily navigable interface that simplifies use and makes onboarding quite low impact.
  • Ability to save favorite pages when users don't want to browse large menus.
  • Quicker page load times than with Yardi Voyager's other front-facing programs.

Cons

  • The help menus/pages are hard to navigate, and can be quite overwhelming to sort through when seeking assistance on a particular topic.
  • Default page timeout duration is short, and can be frustrating when performing tasks such as payables or journal entries that require longer page visit lengths.
  • Most of the development and new features are in other software products from Yardi.
  • Since switching to Yardi Voyager, we have been able to onboard 8 new multifamily properties.
  • The ease at which vendors can connect to Yardi Voyager through APIs has tremendously eased the vendor selection process and expanded our options in adding ancillary software products to our mix.
  • Time to resolve support issues has been cut in half on a SaaS model compared to our previous self-hosted database.
While Yardi Voyager lacks the "bells and whistles" that other Yardi products bring, it's simplified interface and straightforward menu system makes for an ideal case use for our Accounting, AP, AR, and Management teams. Reports offer multiple export and scheduling options, and for those with administrative tasks, Yardi Voyager brings familiar usability and design to other database program one may encounter in that role.
Prior to switching to Yardi Voyager, our company was self-hosted on the PropertySuite platform with MRI Software. In viewing demos and meeting with vendors, we felt that Yardi's capabilities and ease of integrations across our other software products was a real deal breaker. We also have enjoyed an easier time with creating custom reports.

Yardi Voyager is best suited for users in the multifamily and commercial real estate space, and can be used across a wide range of employee roles, including management, leasing, maintenance, operations, asset management, ownership, and more. On the leasing side, Yardi Voyager is best paired with either Yardi CRM or Yardi CRM IQ (Yardi's newest feature program), as they bring a more robust CRM product that helps with managing prospects and residents. Yardi Voyager houses operations for the majority of integrations across a wide range of industries and vendors, and it comes highly recommended by those industries and vendors when it comes to use of APIs and cross functionality.
