Overall Satisfaction with Zoom

We use Zoom for group meetings, especially monthly staff meetings which involve staff all around the globe. We have around 200 core employees spread over 5 continents. It enables us to interact in a more visual manner with remote staff and is also lighter than WebEx from a broadband perspective.
  • Visual contact with remote meeting participants
  • Light use of broadband/wifi
  • Visual wall of meeting participants
  • The connection sometimes lags or freezes
  • It's obviously reliant on people having webcams
  • The wall of participants can only accommodate a fixed number of screens
  • Better integration of remote staff
  • Increased participation of remote staff in meetings
  • Staff meetings more interesting and lively
WebEx seems similar, I think heavier on broadband, but probably more suited for heavy content sessions like animator-led classes.
I think the best scenario is if Zoom is being used by an organisation that is geographically distributed and where staff members are sometimes situated in a remote location. It allows the participants to maintain a minimum of visual contact, even for people on the move, e.g. business trips.
