Overall Satisfaction with Zoom

Currently, Zoom is used across the organization. When an employee is on-boarded, they get a Zoom Pro account. We are also developing Zoom room hardware standards for offices around the globe. Zoom addresses the business problem of being easier to use than other platforms and hardware agnostic.
  • Zoom is easy to use. Users just get it and aren't confused by the UI.
  • Zoom support. Currently, I am a team of one, so I don't have the bandwidth to support every question and ticket I get. Having a ghost support army via Zoom is invaluable.
  • Innovation. The features of Zoom, like just the wireless sharing alone, means it gets deployed in every possible room.
  • The only annoying thing is that when I am using Zoom on my laptop (apple mac I use virtual multiple desktops religiously) and I command + tab to another app or virtual desktop and then switch back to the Zoom call, it always goes back to the Zoom app UI and not the Zoom call in progress. That's all I can think of.
  • The impact for me is less time spent supporting users.
  • The Outlook integration is great. Users love adding Zoom meeting info with the click of a button.
  • Our Zoom Rooms see heavy use. It's often hard to find a room, and other sites are constantly asking when their conference rooms are going to get retrofitted for Zoom.
Zoom Rooms being hardware agnostic is key. AV hardware standards are constantly evolving, so it is nice to know the Zoom Room UI will be consistent for our users, even though the hardware may change over the years or from site to site. As a Zoom admin, every workday starts with checking the status on zoom.us and our company's Zoom Room dashboard.
Ugh. I've been in the Audio Visual Video Conference business for a bit now..... Lifesize, Webex, Goto Meeting, BlueJeans, Tandberg, Polycom, Cisco TMS, Crestron, AMX, SVSi, ClearOne, BiAmp, Extron and on and on ...
The wireless sharing of Zoom is the bee's knees and eliminates probably 90% of AV support calls. If clarity improves, I'll probably get rid of HDMI cables in small and medium conference rooms.
Users seem to just get Zoom and understand it after a few times. So that has probably freed up a lot of time for me-- time that I would be spending on support tickets, calls, and training.
Just the wireless sharing alone is a game changer for conference rooms. Before that, I was constantly seeking out solutions that could do both Miracast and Airplay reliably. For new builds, we put Zoom in all conference rooms even if they don't think they are going to use it for Zoom calls. Our users love the wireless sharing that much and expect it in every room. It provides a consistent user experience.
