Overall Satisfaction with Zoom Workplace

We use Zoom Workplace for external meetings and to host trainings and webinars. We use this across time zones in a remote workspace that operates nationally. We also use it for our board meetings. The ability to have recordings, breakout rooms, and other features that allow for direct engagement in a virtual space is a plus for our connected team.

Pros

Cons

  • It can be difficult to talk team members through troubleshooting if their settings are "off" - for example if they can't figure out why a screenshare button does not appear
  • Updates hit without warning and can delay meeting access
  • I wish we could arrange breakout rooms directly from the Participants window instead of a separate pop up. It would be simpler to drag people into groups from a list instead of selecting them in a separate drop down menu.
  • Cost savings as we are able to reduce travel for in person board meetings
  • More small group work in a remote team allows for stronger individual bonds through breakout groups
  • Greater individual accountability to scheduling and hosting meetings as each person has their own account
Our team has a number of members that identify as neurodivergent. Zoom Workplace AI is helpful as a note-taking and tracking tool for to-do's and major meeting takeaways so that staff can focus on the conversation at hand in the moment rather than taking notes. We also are a travel-heavy team and keeping up to date on missed meetings is a huge plus without having to watch a full recording.
Zoom Workplace has a more robust interface and is more widely understood than Google meets or other video call services and so its best for us for larger groups and with external partners.

It is great for large group meetings and in a remote workspace. We use it with external partners because of the ease of access - even from a phone or on the go. It is intuitive and easy for all levels to access regardless of their skill with technology. Zoom Workplace is perfect for large calls because of the ability to mute/unmute individuals and use breakout rooms. We love it for webinars and trainings as we have control over the way the audience interacts with the presenter. In our board meetings it is easy to track the chat while collaborating and tracking votes.
