Adobe Connect

For larger corporations vetting the scenarios out with your IT prior to purchasing or using a product like Adobe Connect is essential. RVIBE prides itself for successfully bridging the gap between you and your IT department. Does our distributed workforce have access to the microphone and webcams in their laptops or tablets. Are we forced to be on VPN? Is our Network large enough to handle holding a meeting with everyone at their desk? Do we need an HD broadcast because this is a VP and they need to look good?For smaller companies do you need breakout rooms? How many participants will really be on each call? Adobe Connect might be too much technology for the cost. It all comes down to the requirements. RVIBE takes the requirements and guides you down the right path.

LoopUp

LoopUp works well as a cheaper option than WebEx and GoToMeeting. It may not have all the same functions as the competitors, but allows large groups to collaborate and do work for small/mid sized companies. One of the large advantages is you can pay per use rather than having to pay out a subscription.

Beyond all the aforementioned reasons, there's just no other product out there that stacks up against the mature AC solution. We have a fantastic relationship with our AC reseller, who also provides us a great telephony solution in the bundle. Beyond the features, the post-sale support can be a critical factor in successful enterprise-adoption; make sure that your reseller can provide formal AC training to your people, and has a help-desk team well-versed in the product.

The ability to have most of the functionality of a full LMS at a fraction of the cost is huge. I can create manage and deploy both synchronous and asynchronous training based on the situation and all of my training is tracked through a series of easily created reports

Prices do not seem to vary much among resellers of the Adobe Connect hosted license; the only price variation you're likely to find are among the audio providers. When implementing, you may also wish to look into expanding the amount of storage you are allowed on the server to avoid any problems later on as your library of files starts to build up

Alternatives Considered

When evaluating the Adobe Connect Software, we actually wanted to switch to Webcast Studio, but did not have enough time to set up the software before our next web conference. Adobe Connect's pricing was also better and ultimately our evaluation team lead decided that because of timing and pricing we would stick with Adobe Connect for another year. As can be seen, I do think there are many other Web conference platforms that are better which include Webcast Studio and WebEx Meetings.

Loopup is a cheaper alternative than GoToMeeting. You do sacrifice some of the features, but for most staff requiring a dial in and screen sharing it does the job. If cost reduction is at the forefront, you may want to look more seriously at LoopUp as a screen sharing tool.
