AppsAnywhere vs. AWS CodeDeploy vs. HCL BigFix

I have been monitoring the use of this app for the past year now and it has been incredibly useful in providing my team with easy access to the applications they need. It is well suited to organizations with a large variety of applications and users that need to access them from multiple devices. It has been very easy to deploy, manage and maintain, and I love the fact that users can easily find what they need without having to navigate complex menus. (search can still be abit better). Still a really good pick :)

Getting the code from Git Hub, uploading it to the repository, making changes, and deploying it to a specific environment makes AWS tremendous and easy to work with. Once you know how to do it, it is easy to replicate. On the other hand, if you are new, it gets confusing, and you need guidance on the steps to take not to compromise the application.

   However, there are some scenarios where HCL BigFix may be less appropriate or areas for improvement: 1. Coverage Expansion: It is important for HCL BigFix to continue expanding its coverage to include all possible resources installed within the IT infrastructure. Ensuring comprehensive coverage can enhance its effectiveness. 2.On-Site and OS Upgrades: Optimizing the process of on-site and operating system upgrades can help streamline the deployment process further. Improvements in this area would contribute to a smoother and more efficient upgrade experience. 3.Communication Speed: Enhancing the speed of communication between the HCL BigFix agent and the server can help improve the overall responsiveness and efficiency of the solution.
4. Pricing Optimization: Adjusting the pricing of HCL BigFix to be more cost-effective would make it more accessible and attractive to organizations of different sizes and budgets.

Almost everyone you tell to use it to access a specialist application can find the software they need and install it. However, surprisingly many have difficulties finding AppsAnywhere under the start menu or on the task bar - it is not a icon or name they recognise, and they really want to lunch the target specialist software (Zbrush or whatever). Once you find it, many people ignore the search function which is probably the fastest method, and browse the long list alphabetically, because the standard filters do not help much. Favouriting is rarely used as it is too burdensome and not an issue for users when they are looking for the applicationt hey need.

Here is where AWS as a whole stepped up big. The UI is more intuitive and easy to use. The separation is clear, and the guides are abundant. They still need to create starter tutorials for newcomers so we don't lose much time learning/teaching others. Having someone with basic knowledge and examples where they can gain experience will make it better.

The AppsAnywhere team is very quick in setting up things and also having everything in a single place. The bundle of the apps can be easily configured as the documentation is also very straightforward while setting up things and also having the team to work accordingly customize as per the needs

Jenkins supports a lot of plugings. Also with Jenkins, it is possible to manage everything through our own server. Those are 2 points where I rate Jenkins as one of the best DevOps Tool
