Articulate 360
Articulate 360 is a great authoring tool for beginners. It has a very clean user interface and makes creating courses a breeze. You don't need to have much experience as an instructional designer to create a great and professional-looking course. I would recommend it for instructors who want to create intuitive courses available on many different platforms.

Khan Academy
Khan Academy is a great supplement for things you already have learned, or as a mid-level course (versus a deep dive or high school/university level course). It is great for a paced learning environment if you want to casually refresh yourself on a subject or learn something new. I don't think this should be a replacement for structured learning, or if you struggle in self-paced learning environments. There have been times I would like to have been able to ask a professional (like an instructor) when struggling with a subtopic, which is possible in a classroom setting.

- Their courses are free

Articulate 360
- More flexibility to customize the look and feel of Articulate Rise templates (think of position of corporate logo and colors in quizzes)
- A functionality that I would love to see is A morph transition
- The JavaScript trigger can’t be used in preview mode. This really slows down the workflow when working with JavaScript

- On my iPad, to change the language of Khan, I need to change the language of my iPad in the settings
- It can be a bit messy and the category are a bit too generic, not enough per level category
- Sometimes the quizz are too simple, it would be nice to have an extra difficult one as a bonus

Overall I can't fault Articulate 360. Sure, there are always enhancements that an individual user would like to see introduced, but generally speaking the usability is second to none.
Articulate 360 offers something for users of all levels. It can be friendly enough not to turn off novices, but has enough about it to keep the professional coming back for more.

It took forever to get someone to respond--either by email or by phone--directly to a pricing and licensing question. It is unfortunate that a company that has such potential as a streamlined course building/authoring tool not only missed the boat with service but also proves itself to be all fluff and no substance.

I've only had to seek support one time. There was a glitch in one of my lessons and I submitted an email. The glitch was fixed by support within a few days, but I would've liked for it to be faster. However, I don't have a big complaint there because it is a free service.

Articulate 360
Articulate 360 has the total package vs the other tools. If you just wanted to do video, you can use tools like Camtasia. Another elearning tool I have tried is called Viewlet Builder. It was a very stripped down version of a Storyline type software where you could create and produce elearning modules as well. Articulate 360 has pretty much all of the capabilities of the other kinds of elearning development tools, so you pretty much only need one suite instead of compiling a toolkit of mixed software

I personally found Khan Academy much better suited for adult learning of difficult or larger topics. Not so much for smaller changes that can be communicated via email. But it was more engaging and I found the information easier to digest. Change management can be tough but with the right tools it can be a breeze.

- So far we have been able to implement a host of interactive eLearnings that have received a widely positive reception from our learner base! It has some glitches but everyone is mostly happy with it and seem to learn a lot.
- Rise is so easy to use that I can whip up a course as easily as I can whip up an outline, so usually, I just dive into course creation and share that as my "outline." This helps me get work done faster.
- Being able to review my work with the 'Review' tool has allowed us to collaborate much more quickly, which has DEEPLY benefitted one of our big revenue-generating projects last year.

- We used the free version and it proved to be a boon
- Our interns learned about the data structures and algorithmic concepts.
- We also use math-heavy calculations to derive things like statistics in our machine learning models. So Khan Academy helped us get on track for the statistics courses.
