Barracuda Copy (Discontinued) vs. Druva Security Cloud

I actually recommend this service to all my students and colleagues. It's got more storage space for free than any provider I've found (and for students and teachers, this is a BIG deal). It's wonderful if you want to upload video, too, because where Dropbox and other providers severely limit file upload sizes, Copy is much more generous. Also, since Copy is cloud-based, you don't even need your own computer to use it necessarily since you can access it online. I can't really think of a situation where it would be less appropriate unless you wanted to store classified documents (in which case I'd wonder why you're uploading them to a cloud-based server in the first place).

100% cloud backup solution that was implemented well and easy to use. Great communication from our AE through the process and whenever needed. There is a robust admin web management portal that offers a fairly granular user privilege setup and the ability to add different regions in backup. Druva Security Cloud doesn't require a lot of bandwidth or additional resources for either backups or restores. Users can independently recover their data. We are able to back the files up both individually and at a group level. The support team is 24/7 and easily accessible. Biggest con, in this day and age, is that it would be great to have an admin smartphone application. More details when the backup is running would be nice as well as more customizable reports. Also some cosmetic bugs related to the UX, but nothing huge.

• Copy is similar to Dropbox, in that you have a folder on your computer where you store the files you want to be able to access and sync via Copy's online service. It's very reliable about making sure files are synced across machines.
• You can create "shortcuts" to files on your main computer in order to access them from other locations without it impacting the amount of space you're using on your account. It seems to work almost like a VPN (but not quite).
• You can share folders and files with others, allowing various privileges and rights. This process is incredibly easy. It also sends your affiliate link in case the people you are sharing with want to sign up (bonus space!).
• Copy is attractive and simple to use. It's not complicated, and their support site is clear and monitored.
• Copy is great if you regularly need to upload or share video files. It allows a larger upload size than Dropbox which means that those videos you shoot on your smart phone can be uploaded and shared more easily.

• We like the option of downloading backed up files both individually and as a group.
• The ransomware protection is a security feature that puts our minds at ease when it comes to the safety of our data.
• The Customer Success team does frequent reach outs and technical health checks.

• One thing Copy doesn't do is allow you to sync any folder on your hard drive (like Sugar Sync does). You have to save the file in the designated Copy folder. However, Dropbox and most other popular cloud storage services don't allow this either, so although this is a negative, it's so common that it's hardly a major drawback.
• EDIT: You can work around this by creating shortcuts in your Copy folder that point to the folder in its original location on your hard drive.
• There are a few areas of support (instructions, primarily, in regards to file shortcuts) that are a little vague (although at the time of this writing they may have been clarified and detail added).
• Copy isn't as well known as other cloud service providers, so your friends may need to be caught up on its awesomeness. This also means that it isn't as well integrated into apps and programs. I'm hoping time will change this as the service grows.

• They have more ways to improve in Analytics section and UX.
• I recommend to have to integrate with the cloud storages cheaper option to store backups which would be tremendous for customers to save snapshots costs.
• Love to see Druva Data Resiliency Cloud have a better rbac policy on who can trigger the DR engine.

It's by far the most reasonably priced storage solution. Microsoft OneDrive has great pricing, but most would agree that this service isn't quite as easy to use as some of the others (I do actually use it, but not for sharing or collaborating). Also, Copy's less stringent file limitations makes it a step above every other service I've tried. And, it's super easy to explain to others how it works and how to use it.

This is the second company I've brought to Druva. Just today, I was tasked with recovering a file from a user that last saw it 6 months ago. I was able to restore it in under 5 minutes of getting the request. It's really that easy.

Copy is so easy to use, it's beautiful, and it just works well. Although finding my referral link could be easier, I'm constantly recommending it to others. I love that there are no restrictions on the size of file uploads, making it my favorite place to upload video files that are shot on my phone. I like that I can share files if I want. It's a great service, and I don't think anyone beats the amount of free space you start with.

The product is easy to navigate and manage. Setup and configuration is also easy. We did not need to pay for any additional professional services. Our account team worked with use on the integration. It was not complex or difficult to learn how to setup and use. End users also have the ability to log in and manage their own files and emails

Like any service, there are scheduled maintenance periods and unscheduled outages, however outages have been very limited and fortunately have not had any impact on our environment.

Page response in the admin center is acceptable- rarely are we waiting for data to load. Backup speeds seem fine, and restore speeds are OK considering it's likely pulling data from cold storage. It often takes 30-60 seconds for the restore to begin transferring files, but speeds are acceptable thereafter

We had an issue in my first year that took a long time to fix. The support guy was awesome, took screen shots, filled me in, was professional, but it just took so long. I do think that was an anomaly, but it certainly sticks out nonetheless. Beyond that, we've had pretty good support "relationships" with the reps. They're usually pretty prompt at getting back and quite knowledgeable. Just make sure you have your proxies updated, because that's always step 1!

They are very well knowledgeable. They conducted a two day training session and they explained each and everything.

As an administrator, if I had a user who needed additional training, it was available. As an Administrator, the product was so easy I didn't need it

Implementation from cloud ranger to Druva Data Resiliency Cloud platform was a seamless integration experience to upgrade the policies and license for continual backup/recovery support. This may be one of the best "set it and forget it" apps for backup solutions, that also allow notifications for failures etc...

Although Dropbox, SugarSync, and Google Drive are all excellent services (and I still use one or two of them depending on the circumstance - required by business, collaborative document creation, etc.), Copy is probably my favorite. The closest second is SugarSync. What keeps me coming back to Copy (after a long, happy stay with SugarSync) is the pricing and the amount of space you are given for the amount paid (that and my business started blocking SugarSync and Dropbox). Copy has a clean interface, has an equal (or better) user interface and functionality, makes sharing a breeze, and offers a ton of storage for a very reasonable price. And, since I've installed it, I've had zero problems with it getting out of sync or losing files. I'm in love!

We evaluated VMWare as a provider and found their dependence on IaaS or on-premises setup was a deal breaker. Being all-cloud really required that we have a cloud-native SaaS backup solution. VMWare and other IaaS and on-prem providers really could not match Druva Data Resiliency Cloud's abilities, at least not that we were able to determine.

As the product is cloud based within AWS, scaleability is unlimited. The on-premise units of scale are predictable and allow administrators to scale up / down as needed. In my experience, the flexibility around these appliances, allow organisations to vertically or horizontally scale the environment with confidence and ease. Conversely, it is possible to set thresholds to ensure that organisations do not over commit and manage budgets effectively.

• +since it's super easy to get lots of free space, the ROI is awesome. Plus, because you start with more free space than other options, you're already one step ahead.

• Using Druva has simplified greatly the backup process. Once fully configured to your business needs, Druva provides a fast amount of backups.
• Druva has saved a lot of time for the IT team. Usually time is wasted by staff members searching for a missing email. Now, they reach out to us or use their own Druva account to locate a missing email quickly and easily.
