Overall Satisfaction with Druva Data Resiliency Cloud

As we made the move from on-premise Exchange and other services to the cloud, we were looking for a product to be able to back up our data. In working with our data center partners, Druva was the one product that had not only the ability to back up our upcoming M365 environment but also other SaaS products such as SalesForce. The product backups up other products and services, but for the moment, this addressed our current needs where we did not currently have a solution in place.

Pros

  • Deployment and set up is easy.
  • Management of clients is easy.
  • End users have the ability to restore their own data.
  • Integration with SaaS solutions is easy.

Cons

  • Making changes to the email that is sent to users will only change when you make a modification and send it to a user. There needs to be a way to change it ahead of making the change and sending it out.
  • When doing a POC, it seems even if you do not initially purchase it, the deployment stays in place. If you forget any login information, there is no way to recover this if no one remembers their password. Druva support has no "backdoor" to reset admin accounts, which is both good and bad.
  • The ability to backup data that exist on various cloud providers.
  • End users now have the ability to restore their own data if necessary.
  • Cost is on a per users basis, so we can add licenses as needed rather than a much larger upfront cost based on the needed storage or users.
Overall, the product is very flexible and easy to expand. Many features are added to the product via an additional license purchase and some quick configuration on the specific SaaS based product. While they do have a caching appliance for backing up on premise data, my preference is still to have a full appliance that would replicate to a cloud instance. This is primarily due to the fact that most of our data still exist on premise. With the caching appliance the metadata data still needs to be pulled down from cloud based storage.
We did not really take the time to investigate and compare various products. We are on a deadline to evaluate a solution as we made the move to M365. One of the main reasons that we selected Druva was the fact that they are partnered with our current on-premise backup solution and are looking to eventually integrate a console where you can manage both the on-premise solution as well as the Druva cloud. While there is still not a firm timeline, we found the product easy to deploy, configure, and use during our POC. Therefore, we decided to move forward with purchasing the product.

Do you think Druva Data Resiliency Cloud delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Druva Data Resiliency Cloud's feature set?

Yes

Did Druva Data Resiliency Cloud live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Druva Data Resiliency Cloud go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Druva Data Resiliency Cloud again?

Yes

The product is well developed for cloud-based products and services. We have not investigated or looked at expanding the current deployment into other areas. We still do not have a major cloud presence, and what we do have is minor. We may find other scenarios where the product can be used, but we are still in the process of working on our M365 user migration from our on-premise Exchange. Until that is complete, I doubt we will be looking at other features and functions unless another SaaS solution is deployed.

Using Druva Data Resiliency Cloud

670 - This is pushed out to all M365 users. This provides them the ability to look at and restore their own individual files. This avoids end users needing to contact the help desk in order to get one of their deleted file or emails restored. We opted for this option in order to reduce the number of calls. They can still call if they need assistance, but the idea is for this to be a self service option.
3 - There are three administrators that have the ability to administer and work with Druva. This has been sufficient for the number of users we have on the platform. It also speaks to the easy of management and deployment. We do not need to access and manage the system every day with it being a cloud based product.
  • Backup and Restore Emails
  • Backup and Restore OneDrive
  • Backup and Restore Salesforce data
  • We do not do anything unexpected or innovative. We use it as designed.
  • Possibly backup other SaaS based products as we purchase them.
The product was easy to deploy and has been easy to manage. The current pricing model is also acceptable. With all of this combined, it just makes sense to renew our subscription to the product. The only thing that may change this is if there is a product or service that we need that either they do not function with or if they do not offer.

Evaluating Druva Data Resiliency Cloud and Competitors

  • Price
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
We were looking for a product that would backup our M365 before users were migrated. We contacted one of our partners, who recommended Druva. We did a POC and with the features and cost decided to move forward with the platform. So far, the product has been easy to manage and just works.
We would not change the process at all. We have been satisfied that the product did what it said it could do and more. While we do not currently have a large SaaS based deployment, they do integrate with a lot of other products so as we expand our cloud footprint, it seems well positioned to carry us forward with backing up newer solutions.

Druva Data Resiliency Cloud Implementation

Change management was a minor issue with the implementation - We basically rolled this out in conjunction with our migration to M365. Therefore, as people were migrated to M365, they were added to Druva. They received an email with instructions on how to set up their password and how to restore their own individual data. Therefore, there was no need to have a mass announcement or changes reviewed through our change management processes.
  • We did not encounter any issues with our deployemnt
We worked with Druva professional services for our deployment. The initial setup and configuration were completed over a two-day process. There were a few initial things we had to work out on our own side and decide how to handle them. One of the issues we had to decide on was how to sync users from on-premise to Druva as we added them. So, some of it was the design and deployment features we did not consider while we were working on our migration plan. Had we already been fully a cloud-based company with our data, the deployment would have probably gone much faster.

Druva Data Resiliency Cloud Support

Problems get solved
Kept well informed
No escalation required
Immediate help available
Support understands my problem
Support cares about my success
Quick Initial Response

Yes. This way if there is a major issue we can get a faster response. Being an enterprise environment, we tend to purchase premium support for all products we own. This way if there is a major outage or issue we do not have to wait long periods of time for a response. Premium support typically comes with a SLA where a technician\engineer has to respond within a specified time frame.
No because we have never really had any issues with it.
The few times we have contacted support, it has been more for how-to or minor question. However, the response has always been great and the engineers knowledgeable. I cannot recall every having anyone say they need to research or get back with me after looking further into an issue. With that said, we have never had any major issue or outage to report.

  • Main dashboard shows the various products that are being backed up. This makes it easy to get to the one you are needing to work in. This avoids having to search for what you need.
The product is easy to navigate and manage. Setup and configuration is also easy. We did not need to pay for any additional professional services. Our account team worked with use on the integration. It was not complex or difficult to learn how to setup and use. End users also have the ability to log in and manage their own files and emails.
