Basware AP Automation vs. Ottimate

Having the entire invoice life cycle in Basware is the optimal configuration. Currently, we have only ingestion and enrichment, and we rely on S4/Ariba for matching and approvals. There are certain vendors where their invoice format quality is less than optimal for Basware OCR, but Basware continues to work with those vendors to improve the capture rate and/or set them up as EDI.

Plate IQ has been a perfect addition to our company. We had invoices with grease, creases, folds, shaded characters, etc, coming into our office all the time. The ability to scan, or even better, have invoices come through EDI, has completely changed the way we are able to handle invoicing.

• Basware is fast and reliable. Very rare down time during the time we've been using it.
• Great support team. Our needs were addressed timely and efficiently.
• Basware provides us with great customer service. We have had many modifications to our specific needs and Basware worked well with us for our customizations.

• SKU tracking (the AI part that works reasonably well)
• Invoice Processing Automation (Think bill.com on steroids)

• Once you cancel the document in "cancellation queue" it cannot be restored or viewed.
• Sometimes but relatively rarely the program opens slowly.
• In rare instances the program freezes and needs to be restarted.

We will continue using product and continue renewing as it is widely used product and it has been well adapted by users in our organization. The product is expensive but we will use it. Hopefully the product bugs will be fixed in future and they will provide more HA architecture feather for Basware.

They have a dedicated support person for each customer who actually knows the product.

Turnaround is usually within an hour or faster.

I have only used Basware Purchase to Pay in my organization, however it is such a good software that my company decided to keep using it for next years.

PiQ costs $250K less than netsuite (at a minimum). Unless you have/need netsuite, no comparison.

Bill.com isn't targeted, and doesn't give the functionality that PiQ has for analytics by SKU.

Expensify is the closest in ease of use. They are not competitive; just very similar.

• In my opinion, it has had zero impact on ROI now that we are paying for an additional year.
• Another negative is that we've spent a lot of time discussing this issue with Plate IQ, to no avail. They feel it's appropriate to charge a company for an entire year of service even though said company emailed to cancel prior to the end of the first year of service.
• We also wasted a lot of time onboarding this company only to find out that the software left a lot to be desired.
