Box
Box is well suited for projects on which a smaller handful of individuals are working on the same project at the same time. I can imagine that for files that require the input of many individuals, Box file editing and sharing may run slower than desirable. Box will help seamlessly integrate desktop applications like Microsoft Office with online editing and collaboration capability.

Pros
Box
- Ease of sharing - extremely important when multiple people/departments are working on the same project.
- Ease of access - Box can be accessed via the web or by the cloud (Box Sync, Box Drive) so you can access your files even on computers you don't regularly use.

Cons
Box
- The local application sometimes times out on you unknowingly, so you have to check periodically that it is still running and syncing your data.
- I wish Box had a way of accessing your online portal without first going to the website and clicking through a few pages in order to get to where you need to go to access your files online.
- It would be nice if there were a few more of the Box features included in the free version, or at least be able to get a free trial of them. Box makes so many cool softwares that would be nice to have for productivity.

I like the security features and I like the website. It's easy to use and create and move things around as needed. The main reason for a lower rating is because the Box Sync app is just not a good program. It's a memory hog, it's slow, transfer speeds are slow, and it's not the most efficient route. If you have a large Box account and you need to get a computer up to speed on a large amount of data within Box, you are in for the long haul. Last time I had to do this, it took 3 days to sync all of the files and we are talking around 100 GB worth of data

I think I can only describe it as excellent. All aspects of Box work without problem, quickly and efficiently. The file upload and download systems are quite fast, the process of access from different platforms is carried out without problems, so far no document has been generated in conflicts or unexpected copies, or any type of error.

Box is fast, but it's not as fast as it could be. There are times when I wish it didn't have so many features and just let me get to the file I want quickly, and click once to generate a link to share the file and paste it to my clipboard. Instead, it takes maybe 20 or 30 seconds for something that I wish took only 5 or 10 seconds. Overall, it is a snappy interface, though, so I can't complain too much.

I found their support community lacking in clarity when I experienced a login issue. The error messaging was poor on my Box Sync application. I did not reach out to support staff for help, instead, I reasoned that I should try downloading the Box Sync application again and reinstall it. That fixed my issue, thankfully. I think a less computer-savvy user would've been much more frustrated.

The documentation is good. Since Box is a popular service, there were also a number of YouTube videos and other sources that were helpful as we were considering the product and planning for deployment. Also, the ability to try the free version helped to prepare us.

Be careful with settings. It is easy to get overwhelmed with updates. For example, you don’t want to be updated when doing historical data uploads. I recommend taking off notifications initially and then turn on post you have done your historical data upload.

Box allows for larger amounts of data to be moved between our call centers and us without the restrictions we ran into before. When we need to transfer call recordings between us and our call centers or carriers, they need to be done quickly and securely. Some of those call recordings are very large and we had troubles before we started using Box

Box
- Well - I am using the free version - so I am way into the positive ROI! However - for the paid versions, the ROI is good as they start with a $5 (100GB) per month plan with quite a lot of features, so finding a version in your price range should be easy.
- I think one negative impact thing will be fact that a solution like OneDrive - which is part of Office 365 - or Google Drive (part of Google Apps) - would virtually eliminate the need to go with an outside service.
- Compliance factors might sway a company back. Couple that with an attention paid to the location of data in the Box network (think GDPR) - and you can sway some back to Box.
- Couple a $5 Box account with a free Gmail account and someone can go into business quite easily!
