Likelihood to Recommend Braintree is a lower cost alternative to many of the options business owners have through their bank. However, they will need to be techy or be working with a developer to set up. The setup and backend isn't as user friendly as alternatives. Braintree is a great option if you'll need to manually type in credit card details. Banks will sometimes charge a lot more for that option. The manual option is nice if your clients aren't as tech savvy and prefer to pay over the phone than to pay on your website.
Read full review Payoneer is well suited for freelancers whether or not they work on marketplaces. as it makes it easier to receive payments from clients abroad. More over it also takes a lot of hassle out of getting paid from international clients as well as sending cross border payments. It has some what limited implementation in e commerce type business especially where you need to automate the payment process
Read full review Pros Braintree has excellent integration with the BigCommerce platform. The switch of our previous payment processing gateway to Braintree was very easy and only required a few clicks. Tying into Braintree's BigCommerce integration, for company's like ours that are on the BigCommerce enterprise plan, Braintree's rates for BigCommerce enterprise customers are extremely competitive and saved us money. Braintree has a pretty easy to use portal that can be accessed through the same login we use for PayPal which we are using in conjunction with Braintree with ease. I've only had to call Braintree twice and my customer service issues were handled extremely quickly and easily. Read full review It is very well accepted world wide and also accepts more than 150 currencies. A decent and nominal exchange rates of currency as compared to similar platforms like PayPal. I can keep track of all the transactions, payments, balance, etc using Payoneer. It is because of Payoneer we can grow our business globally. Read full review Cons Not a very good subscription management platform for a Saas business, but they make up for it on the API with others that are Doesn't have a lot of additional features, but that's what you'd expect out of a payment processor Very expensive per transaction, but the reality is that any processor who helps early stage companies accept online payments are expensive. Read full review The process of getting payment is a little bit complex in Payoneer as compared to PayPal. Receiving of payments takes a very long time and it's not instant. The customer service of Payoneer is not up to the mark and it takes a very long time to resolve simple issues. Read full review Payoneer helps me a lot on my online business journey, it gave me the support and functions that I want.
Read full review Usability It just works.
Read full review Support Rating Their support is a joke. There's nothing "supportive" about them. Every time I call in with an issue no one has an answer or even a recommendation. I am put on hold and no one ever comes back. It's time to find another processor.
Read full review The support is really awful. They send you generic answers, and actually don't really understand what is going on. For example, when our re-verification was stuck, support agents told me that the account is active and you can send a payment. I did that, my card was charged, but the payment was declined, because the account was not active
Read full review Implementation Rating It is simple for a developer to do.
Read full review Alternatives Considered Braintree is better at handling international payments and supporting a variety of payment methods that can all be configured from the same dashboard. Braintree supports PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc. in addition to simply credit cards like Stripe. Braintree has a vault of existing user payment methods so the user doesn't have to re-enter their information each time.
Read full review Before Payoneer, I used Paxum, a Canadian product, that was or is similar but more expensive. Also used Payza(later Ecopayz), and European alternative, they have their ups and downs, they aren't even listed in the Search above, basically they are both payment gateways that allow using several payment methods, and any payment gateway, the problem is they don't have any bank accounts associated with them, therefore they are more limited in that regard. Both use a card as the main withdrawal method, and both support international currencies, but there as I mentioned there isn't any bank account associated with them, nor there is a way to connect them to Stripe.
Read full review Return on Investment Simplified billing so we spend less time on it Saved $20 a month or more when compared to alternatives that have a monthly charge. It gives peace of mind because we know that any service we use in the future will likely integrate with Braintree Read full review I can receive the money from anywhere around the world, and in any currency. It converts the money directly into my local currency, hence becomes easy for us to track and withdraw money from our bank accounts. Sometimes customer support lacks the ability to satisfy the customer requirements. Required to make two different accounts for receiving and sending money. Read full review ScreenShots
