CenterPoint Payroll
CenterPoint Payroll has been excellent for our company, with approximately 150 employees. I can certainly see it being excellent for smaller companies and larger companies. I don't know if there is a size of company at which it would become difficult or limiting to use - I can't foresee any of the functions or features becoming limiting factors as company size increases. To a certain extent, I could see the robustness of CenterPoint being a bit more than what is necessary for a tiny company of less than 5 employees, but it would certainly be able to do what is required for them.

Namely has fit well into our corporate environment. I credit that to the initial setup team from Namely and our team that was led by our HR Director.Payroll day is always a day of challenges. With a combination of hard deadlines to get processing complete and the review of the data before the payroll information flows through the system. Complications such as management requiring a new pay code at the last minute which will involve submitting a case to Namely Support for guidance. The timely response from Namely Support made the day run smoother.

- Time off tracking tool needs to be more customizable to accommodate varying types of PTO policies. Employees need to be able to easily see what time off they have available.
- Performance reviews need to be more streamlined and user friendly for managers. They should be able to see employee responses while they complete reviews. A side-by-side view would be helpful or integrating the responses by question in one view would work as well. It's just very clunky right now for managers. Would also be great to have a place in Namely where managers can keep performance notes (outside of a scheduled review) on employees to reference during reviews and 1:1's.
- Increased foldering capabilities in the Resources section to have folders within folders for better organization of resources.
- Decrease lag time for benefits updates with providers.
- Updates made in HR profiles should flow over to Teams page, like title and reporting line changes.
- Ability to search the feed would be great.
- Analytics on site usage, i.e., pages visited, resources accessed. This data would help show management the usage and engagement of employees as well as ROI.
- More posting capabilities in the feed would be good. Allow posting of videos, audio files, gifs as well as increased text formatting capabilities.

Administrators and employees love Namely. It is very easy to use and streamlined. Employees stay engaged with news feed updates and enjoy all the self service options. The time cards are very easy to access and clocking in and out for non-exempt employees is a breeze. Namely is part of our family.

Namely is a user-friendly system that is continuing to improve its integration across platforms with HRIS, Benefits, Payroll, and Time. For us, a complex user with multiple clients and hundreds of hourly employees, it has been a good solution (though not without its drawbacks) and we have greatly appreciated Namely's willingness to listen to our concerns and requests for changes in the product. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Namely for any company far more simple than ours—especially small entities with most, if not all, salaried employees.

CenterPoint support is excellent! While I have not had to use them frequently, as the program is consistently stable and has few, if any, bugs, the times I have had to reach out to tech support, they have been excellent and have solved our issues quickly. They listen to our explanation of the problems, can dial into our system to see exactly what we're seeing in real time, and have always been able to quickly determine the issue, work out a solution, and help us through the process until we've got everything back in line. They are friendly, courteous, professional, kind and very knowledgeable of their products. This is absolutely one of the best things about CenterPoint - even though we seldom need it, when we do, they are always quick to get us through the issue.

Unfortunately, in more recent years we've had a lot of difficulty with Namely as they've undergone a lot of internal changes. It took 4 returned emails saying the person no longer worked at Namely to find someone to help me (I finally called payroll) and it took a while to get connected with a direct source of help. Namely now has set up their "pod" feature of communication which works well for the most part, but is different. I felt spoiled when we first started with Namely, but now it feels very much like working with most large companies' help centers. There is a system to go through and you do have the option to click "urgent". In general the help is efficient, but it still takes a few days and it's hard to speak with someone directly. It is all done via online communications and is difficult to actually speak to someone on the phone. This works well for most cases, but I do feel frustrated more often than I'd like to with this type of communication. (2019/2020)

I was not part of the implementation of Namely. It was before my time. Prior to Namely the company used UltiPro, which is also a great system. The implementation/transition supposedly went smooth, but I cannot comment from my own firsthand experience.

We selected CenterPoint Payroll because of our dissatisfaction with ADP (and Paychex prior). We wanted a solution that we controlled internally, instead of having to be at the mercy of some huge company that saw us as a tiny fish in a big ocean. We set our company's configuration, add/define all of our own specific settings, profiles, etc. and simply process payroll. We print and sign our own checks, process our own direct deposits directly with our bank, and can handle our own business needs. When we were with ADP and Paychex before, both companies made promises to us that they simply were either unwilling or unable to fulfill. We have saved both time and money by doing our payrolls ourselves with CenterPoint.

It has been a few years since I used SAP Success Factors. It is clearly for enterprise companies, so strictly speaking, it doesn't compete directly with Namely. Although I have my issues with Namely's user experience, it blows SAP SuccessFactors out of the water. SF is a complete disaster, typical of old-school enterprise software. It is bloated and frustrating to use. Namely is much better (though still has room for improvement). Of course, SF has a ba-zillion additional features and capabilities. Not really an apples-to-apples comparison.

- CenterPoint Payroll has saved us tens of thousands of dollars from our prior arrangement with ADP, while providing either similar or superior support.
- Having payroll completely in our control has simplified a LOT of our daily routines - if something needs to be updated or adjusted, we do it ourselves instead of contacting someone at ADP and hoping that they can do it for us, then getting frustrated when they haven't.

- More labor intensive (cost us more money to switch to this product).
- Decline in reporting capability (payroll general ledger report is a nightmare every 2 weeks).
- Product cost is way too high for services delivered. It was the worst financial investment we have made in years.
