Overall Satisfaction with Namely

We utilized Namely as our HRIS, globally for US and Germany. We did not utilize the payroll functionality or benefits, as we were also paired with a PEO. Namely helped us to keep all of our employees in one place, and to track changes to compensation, title, manager etc. We were also able to use it's functionality for performance reviews.
  • Very user friendly interface, for both employees and admins
  • was very good for German data
  • had an HR dashboard (and relatively good reporting)
  • in my opinion, HORRIBLE performance review platform, we had a really hard time with it and would not recommend that you use this function
  • In my experience, poor customer service, difficult to get ahold of them when you need support
  • Capabilities are limited in comparison to other more robust HRIS systems

We LOVE Rippling and prefer this tool. I would recommend.
Implementation was a bit complicated and our company had to carry most of the weight. It often felt like our implementation manager was giving us extra work that she did not want to do herself. It also took much longer than expected - I believe almost 2 months. I believe our company carried a bit too much of the weight.
I don't think Namely was very user friendly as we still had to manually do most processes.
I would recommend Namely if you are looking for a cheap barebones place to maintain employee information. I would not recommend utilizing any of there additional services such as performance reviews, if you would like this feature I would partner with something like Lattice or Culture Amp to support this. Namely is also good for global data collection, Germany is not an easy country to hold data for and Namely was able to do this for us.
