Dentrix G7 is better suited for small private dental offices that are not doing federal FQHC data reporting every year. G7 doesn't allow for the full capturing of all FQHC data that is needed as the enterprise edition does. Dentrix G7 also is not suited well for mutliple site dental offices as that is not technically supported. There is a work around requiring a Windows terminal server to setup Dentrix as a server application. Any businesses that have multiple dental offices are better suited for the Dentrix Enterprise edition which does allow for this and hosted Dentrix.
Read full review Pros Scheduling - I personally enjoy the ease of use with the solution. It also has a great "memory" as to patient rescheduling, no shows, etc. Being able to create multiple schedules to reflect different practitioners is such a major plus in this system. Customization - I am able to create Super-bills, Global Periods, and Insurance Details pertinent to each patient and not have to RECREATE them every time like I had to in past systems. EOB - an added bonus is the ability for the system to check EOB ahead of time. This is a HUGE time saving in an office! Read full review Easy to look up, edit, delete, break and make appointments. This is great when you're on the phone with someone and are able to quickly locate them in the system and see what appointments they have. Easily make changes to providers information, colors or schedules. This is nice because we tend to have fill in hygienists and we can change their colors so it will not indicate the same colors as are our normal staff. Easily print reports and deposits from the office manager. This helps us keep track of new patients, aging reports, unscheduled appointments, unscheduled treatment, continuing care appointments and so much more. We have used Dentrix support and they seem to be helpful. We are able to schedule meetings as needed within a short time frame, and are usually able to resolve any issues we may have within 1 or 2 calls. There doesn't seem to be as strong of a user community around Dentrix as there is with

I personally would use this system over any other systems currently on the market. Athena has a nice product...however, it can be quite expensive and the colors are draining on the eyes. eClinical Works also has a system that is comparable, but the customization I found wasn't as easy as the Cerner product

I have previously used Eaglesoft and Easy Dental. I have found Dentrix to be very comparable to Eaglesoft, and myself and my team feel that it is relatively essay to use and seems to have a low learning curve for new members added to the team, at least in my experience.
