With good training people, it's a Swiss knife of company data backup, no stress about keeping backups in a safe place!

We can bet on its reliability and, in case we need to prove, there is an easy-to-use mock recovery option that allows VMs to be run directly from the backup (saves space on the virtualization datastore) and connected to dedicated recovery-test network.

• The activity monitor allows me to easily see if there are issues with backup jobs or the environment.
• Community support for NBU is very good. I've been able to research issues with ease and find other users that have been in similar situations.

• Backups have the option of "screenshot verification". Screenshot verification doesn't always work for us when our vmtools is out of date. If we are on an older version of VMware and that version of vmtools is up to date, NAKIVO still thinks it is out of date.

Veritas continues to keep up with the backup game. There virtual machine backup capabilities are now top notch, and I believe they will prove valuable when our cloud presence demands a backup solution.

It is a product that contains most of the features of its big competitors but at an affordable price for small businesses. In addition, the support is very good even if they only have support in English. Another important factor is its compatibility with NAS devices, which greatly simplifies deployment. The implementation is simple and in a matter of minutes you can define the first copy Jobs

There is a slight learning curve depending on what you wish to back up. However, as a whole it is fairly easy to use. The reporting of backups gives peace of mind to ensure data is protected. The GUI is intuitive and easy to find the correct areas you need to perform various functions. Recovery is also done via a GUI that is extremely easy to use and select the backup you wish to recover.

NAKIVO Backup & Replication is very easy to set up. I did it by myself, and it went perfectly. Online documents are very well written, and also the tech support asked to help me set it up. I want to do it by myself and the setup process is very easy to do. The connection to your VM and servers is very easy to do.

Support is pretty good but it is split between America and outsourced companies so it is hit or miss sometimes. I have actually had to argue with the outsourced support as they sometimes have no practical experience using the software which makes troubleshooting difficult when they have no practical experience using the system.

The support is fast and perfect. If u have any questions, you can contact the support team via mail or chat and you always get a fast answer. You can also find a lot of help in the FAQ in the help center to resolve your problems. Anytime I had to contact the support, they helped me and solved my problem.

It is very easy to do in all the formats in which it is implemented, whether as an appliance, in a windows machine, or an implementation in NAS. I only use the appliance one, but I have tried all of them in trial mode to know which one interested me more.

Both are similar in what they are capable of protecting. However, IBM Storage Protect does provide more granular recovery options. Again, this is down to your business's specific use case. You might not need that granularity that IBM storage protect provides. In that case, Veritas NetBackup is a great solution for your business at often a better price.
