Epicor Propello vs. Revel Systems

Propello is user-friendly for the average store associate for a basic sale. Some basic inventory functions and product inquiries are not too difficult for store associates. But beyond that, in my experience, the system lacks functionality for a Hardware and Lumber store that handles special orders, services, etc. And the data needed to make business decisions is not easy to obtain, with some of it impossible to get unless you purchase an additional program from them.

It is very well suited for a one or two location operation. When we got up into the 7 venues and the high volume of sales/traffic, is where things started to get a little jumbled up. The scanning functions and UPC generation is very effective when dealing with keeping track of 7 locations. The "open check" feature is a BIG problem for us, as orders would be made, but the system allowed you to go onto the next order without collecting payment for the previous

• Interface extremely easy to learn and use from back end to front end user.
• Customer service is extremely responsive. Tickets are reponded to and taken care of quickly.
• Reporting features are easy to use and get the information you are looking for.

• Revel Systems is a very simple POS to operate for our employees
• They are constantly improving and updating
• Revel has integrated with COMO
• Reporting is very straight forward and easy to use

• Make it easier to run a report to find customer past purchases.
• Not change inventory data that has to be manually entered.
• Make it easier to run any report.
• Not cost so much for each license and require so many.

• We experienced multiple system failures when first implementing Revel.
• Occasionally we would have separate orders/tables merge or disappear entirely, which we could not attribute to user error.
• Some reporting limitations that our finance department needed

We have put an incredible amount of time into the set up, organization and clean up of this product. Now that it is working and flowing a little better, it would be inconvenient and potentially a bad move if we were to go anywhere else now.

Epicor Propello has significant potential but setup and training create anchors to moving forward. Mobile POS is useful and can improve productivity. Setup and methodology are a barrier to taking advantage of this component. Some features have been missing and are still in release phases. Updates are necessary to make the software more comprehensive. Usability is limited to how the end user is setup and trained.

It can be a bit difficult at the beginning but gets easier as long as you are taking advantage of Revel University, Help, and Customer Service when you get stuck

We got excellent support from Revel whenever we needed it. I personally worked with several Revel client support reps, and they were all extremely dedicated and helpful in assisting with any problem we had.

Lightspeed had consistent issues with the software being down and little to no support. It also didn't have easy functionality to receive orders via a mobile device. Epicor Propello's team is very receptive to feedback and has made changes we suggested.

• Square - Used Square with our entire menu for over 3 months. Doesn't handle food applications well.
• Shopkeep - While promising, doesn't offer a delivery management in any way, and online ordering is handled through third-party which is more expensive and more time-consuming to manage.

• Round Up has been a positive
• monthly fees are very fairly priced
• having to get each user a license does limit us at times

• Huge ROI, we took time to implement and customize our interface and it now saves us loads of time.
• We have almost endless data to look back on and help make business decisions
• It's easy to train, which reduces labor.
