Chose Flipgrid
Flipgrid is unique in its ability to allow students to create and share their own videos. I’m sure there are other ways to do this, but this is the first program that I’ve seen with these features. Students aren’t necessarily used to sharing academic videos of themselves, so …
From an academic point of view, I thought using Flipgrid to record videos and add their voices to them, or even analyzing and sharing about videos or lectures would be effective. Sadly, I discover this product to be more suited for explanatory presentations and introductions …
Flipgrid gives students the ability to create their own products. Nearpod provides teachers with the platform to send lessons and information out to students, where Flipgrid is the way for students to respond to questions and prompts by their teachers. It allows them to …
Flipgrid is a game changer, working in a similar fashion to these other applications, but offering much more in terms of teacher control and implementation inside the classroom. Teachers can create lesson plans that incorporate options for Flipgrid to be utilized as a formative …
Gumlet beat Vimeo for us on two key fronts. First, it matched the Vimeo feature set we actually used but at a significantly better price point. Second, in both testing and real‑world customer implementations, we saw no performance issues at all. That combination convinced us to …
Before using Gumlet, I tested StreamOne Live. The platform was generally stable and easy to use, but it didn't offer 4K video-on-demand. For my formats with high-quality, detailed video content, that was a significant drawback. That's why I ultimately chose Gumlet, because …
Honestly, the LTD was a no-brainer for me. I hate to say price point but it is a consideration. But the features have to match what I need and the product still needs to feel like an amazing product. Gumlet has all that. I also choose Gumlet because there was a migration tool. …
Reliability and No advertising that I can't control. So, my users don't need to stop their learning to see some advertising I'm not monetizing from anyway. It gives you full control on what your audience see and when, so that they can also benefit the most of their …
We've used platforms like Vimeo and Wistia before Gumlet. Gumlet stands out due to its strong focus on media optimization, offering advanced video compression and image delivery features that reduce costs and improve performance. Unlike Vimeo and Wistia, Gumlet provides more …
I would say Gumlet is similar to Vimeo. It's not as a polished interface as Vimeo and there is no mobile app, but when you consider the cost of Vimeo you get almost all the features for a much lower price. We don't have the screen recoding tool with Gumlet which I will miss …
I was a Vimeo subscriber for over 10 years, and - finally - Gumlet seems to be a fine replacement. The lifetime deal makes it very attractive to me, which is why I switched over from Vimeo. Google Drive and YouTube can deliver some of the features I need, but not all (player …
The things that make me felt that Gumlet provide more values than others are the unlimited bandwidth with a single price point. Also, I like the DRM feature offered by Gumlet.
Bunny.net also provides streaming services and hosting of videos. But the problem with bunny.net is that, to have the DRM solution, you need to pay $99 per month minimum. Here, Gumlet shines, as I have to pay just once for the lifetime use. Besides that, Gumlet has more …
No GDPR compliance on YT, Gumlet is primarily a service that focuses on optimizing and delivering images and videos for web applications. It automatically resizes, compresses, and serves images and videos through a Content Delivery Network (CDN) to ensure that the media loads …
As mentioned, if you require video hosting with higher limits and personal branding, without the additional features which you probably don't use...just go for Gumlet! streaming quality and speed is top, didn't encounter issues and no complaints from clients since we started …
They have all the same features and keep adding more, generating landing pages for video share was huge for us. Ease of use, no ads. cost, it really doesn't compete. We're very happy with the outputted quality of the video exports and the ability to manage DRM for video …
vimeo might be the only real competitor. ich prefer Gumlet because of its fair pricing, better workflows, stability and overall look. i wasn't looking for a network with an algorithm in its back but for a solid video-hosting and player-solution. i have found it in Gumlet.
Reliability in delivered service, security, and quality consistency. The other options had a bad reputation, poor qualities and low trustability compared to Gumlet. Additionally, the price was more convenient on Gumlet.
Earlier we were using Vimeoon our landing page but it was not helping must as it was bringing a few 3rd party scripts which were hampering the load time when checked on the Gtmetrix page speed test thus we were looking for some other option. Once we tested the same use case …
I'd greatly recommend it to any teacher. It can be used in a variety of scenarios but mainly for speaking activities. It can work for example as an oral exam or oral evaluation, this I make them hiding it from other students' views. I also use it to analyze and comment about videos and readings. When students start talking and liking it, it's a killer. They start asking when is the next forum going to happen. However, something I do not recommend it for is role plays or collective readings, which I have tried and it fails miserably. This is because of timing, students upload the video at different moments and it is a hot mess. However, I am fine with the first part because it works pretty well.
For hybrid live event formats, where a group watches the same video simultaneously and the flow needs to be perfectly synchronized, Gumlet is, in my opinion, the best solution. Especially in combination with a live Zoom call, Gumlet made our work possible in the first place, because video and audio run smoothly and the quality is automatically adjusted to the viewers' internet connection. If an event depends on everyone finishing at the same time, Gumlet is invaluable. Gumlet is also ideal for online courses and video libraries where high-quality, high-resolution videos need to start without loading time – we are increasingly using it instead of our LMS because the performance is simply much better. Gumlet is currently less suitable if you need permanent live stream channels or want to prepare many live events simultaneously, as streams are currently automatically closed and archived when OBS ends. However, according to support, this feature is already in development. For our use cases, I would recommend Gumlet without hesitation. Flipgrid allows teachers to post a question to students on how they accomplished a particular task. This is important because it shows the students process and also gives them an opportunity to teach others.
Flipgrid allows teachers to make a "mixed tape" of student responses and use it for assessment. This allows teachers to show parents and administrators whether student growth.
Flipgrid has a great feature that allows teachers to post their Flipgrids with the community. The community can reuse the questions and edit them. This allows collaboration among fellow teachers.
Not only can teachers post questions but they can also record themselves asking the question. This is great for non-readers and English Language Learners.
I’d rate our likelihood to renew at a clear 10, because Gumlet has become such an integral part of how we deliver, protect and scale our video content. The platform consistently performs without issues, the playback quality is excellent, and the security features give us peace of mind that no other tool matched. Beyond reliability, Gumlet keeps adding meaningful improvements such as AI subtitles, interactive elements, and better analytics, which continue to streamline our workflow and increase engagement without extra effort from our team. At this point, switching to anything else would feel like a step backwards, both in efficiency and overall video experience.
Becasuse I added three mentoring cohorts this past three months without changing my course platform or worrying about storage. Uploading and publishing sessions is fast. Students have a better adapting experience, fewer buffering complaints for those on phones or slow Wifi. The core video hosting, delivery and speed benefits are strong enough tha t Gumlet gets a 9 from me
Flipgrid has been easy for both our students and staff to use. When there is an issue with the program, we can easily reach support, and the trouble is resolved in an extremely quick and timely manner.
Flipgrip is great for supporting educators. They provide opportunities for teachers to learn the program and become ambassadors for the program. They are also responsive to questions and concerns through many different modes. That includes online communities, email, and Facebook communities. They are eager to meet and troubleshoot with you and are also eager to meet educators at conferences and meetings.
This is probably the biggest factor for Gumlet. Their support team is fantastic and always professional. Most support inquiries through their chat get answered in minutes.
Flipgrid is unique in its ability to allow students to create and share their own videos. I’m sure there are other ways to do this, but this is the first program that I’ve seen with these features. Students aren’t necessarily used to sharing academic videos of themselves, so it’s good practice!
Gumlet beat Vimeo for us on two key fronts. First, it matched the Vimeo feature set we actually used but at a significantly better price point. Second, in both testing and real‑world customer implementations, we saw no performance issues at all. That combination convinced us to switch to Gumlet, and we haven’t looked back.
This product is straightforward to implement and share across our building and district. As a large district, it was not difficult to train staff and have them feel at ease implementing the program.
